A perfect merger between industrial production and craftsmanwork. Between the machine, speeding up times and optimising processes, and man's hand, the only able to give to each component of our product that special touch giving at the end a only piece. Each Seven Sedie chair, armchair, table and writing desk is the result of this union. Tradition and innovation are the right alliance on which new models planning is based. From one side, a clear reference to old lines and styles. On the other side, the attention to present and future trend. So in Seven Sedie sidechairs and armchairs, simplicity can live together with refinement, functionality with details preciosity.
Production process
Perhaps at first sight it's not immediately evident how much work it needs to make a chair or a table. Only with a careful look you can discover features and details revealing what's behind each product. Ideas, intuitions and projects, professional abilities, experience, skilled workers, high technology in machineries. Like spider's threads, all factors must be ably mixed together to create the final result. That's why Seven Sedie believes equally important the way in which all synergies are organized in the production cycle. From cutting of woods to assembling, from finishing to shipment of products, in Seven Sedie each phase of process is entrusted to a specialized department. In this way we can have remarkable advantages in times optimization, procedures rationalization and professional efficacy concentration. Step by step, the product is subject to an accurate acceptance and result check procedure.
Phases of production cycle
Drying and cutting
After being duly dried, beech-wood is cut to get the different components which make up the product. For example, for the sidechair: frontrail, backside, sides and legs.
Milling and turning
All single pieces are subjected to an accurate milling or turning, through modern concept machineries. In this phase of process we begin to define the typology of the product we want to create.
Tenoning and drilling
With the greatest care we proceed to make the specific fitting of pintles for each kind of product manufactured. Pratically with this process we "decide" the junctions which will join the single components during the assembly.
Pre-assembly
This is the first step of assembly. All elements composing the backside or the frontside of the frame are connected together. Particularly important in this phase is the correct measuring out of the glue, and for this reason this process is guaranteed by the rule UNI EN ISO 9001:2000 with a validation certificate to the gluing for each employed in this sector.
Smoothing
A distinct proceeding regards smoothing of components and of backsides. Care in smoothing is basic to obtain the maximum output from following polishing process.
Carving
Carvings, grooving and any other finishing touch of the wood are entirely hand-made, with the greatest ability, by masters of the sector.
Finishing
This is the last substantial intervention before final assembly. The extreme attention to any detail distinguish this phase of process, which is entrusted to experienced workers.
Assembly
Pre-assembled components, carefully finished, are joined together to make the frame of product. In this phase, as in pre-assembly, the measuring out of the glue is very important to guarantee a correct and suitable fixing of components. Of course employees working in this sector are qualified to gluing process by a validation certificate UNI EN ISO 9001:2000.
Upholstery
In this department we carry out the upholstery of the frame, consisting in preparing the stuffing with webbing, springs, linen and the right density foam, so that to avoid flattening of the seats in the time. Then we proceed with covering using one of the many fabrics at our disposal.
Now, our product is ready to be packed and shipped to our customer.
